It's time for the Lancaster "Silly Season"
posted
over the 2006 off-season
Every year, during the off-season, the Silly Season begins. The Silly
Season can best be explained as any rumors, driver changes, car changes
or division changes that happen over the off-season.
The rumors have already started after the post stating that Lancaster
was for sale in a popular internet racing classified. Also, rumors have
gone around about Lancaster laying a few employees off because of low
funds after a rain filled season.
--- There is a rumor floating around that Bruce Putney and a guy from
New Jersey that owns a couple other tracks are purchasing Lancaster
Raceway Park. Jim Reid was still in control at the Sportsman meeting.
More details will be released on Monday.
--- It is rumored that Tom MacLeod may drive a SST Sportsman in 2007. It
is just a rumor.
--- Dave Wollaber is out of the #45 DeLange Racing Modified. Erick
Rudolph is going to drive the car about half way through the 2007
season. Rudolph is still going to race his #12 SST Sportsman.
--- There will be another father-son racing team in the street stocks
next season. Bob Blaszak Sr and Bob Blaszak Jr. While Jr's number is
undecided, look for Sr in his familiar #56.
--- Some talk has been going on that Lancaster will be racing in 2007 on
the raceny forums and that Lancaster is for sale, lease and/or looking
for supporters. All the details will probably will be revealed at the
banquet.
--- A confirmed fact is that Sege Fidanza has brand new 2007 Troyer in
his shop. This info has been posted on segefidanza.com
--- Another fact is that Mike Scott has sold his #59 Super Stock to Jim
Kron, III. This info is from the raceny.com classifieds.
