LancasterRacer.com
PR Lancaster, NY – In about one month, the cars will be back and ripping around Lancaster Raceway Park, in Lancaster, NY. With the 2007 season come many changes. Modifieds will no longer be a full time division at the historic 5/8 mile speedway. Only 6 races on the 2007 schedule will feature modifieds. Those races are May 6, June 30 (ROC 75), July 7, August 4, September 8, and the US Open. All the modified races are 50 laps a piece except for the ROC and US Open races. Drivers will run all 6 races for points and a champion will be crowned. There will be no handicapping as all drivers will draw for the heat and features. All 50 lap races are $2,000 to win. Additional changes involve the Late Models. They will only race 12 times in 2007. All races are $1,000 to win. The 2007 season starts on Sunday, April 29th with open practice. A second practice session is scheduled for Saturday May 5th, with the Season Opener the following day, May 6th. The Season Opener includes a Modified 50 lap feature and a Late Model 50 lap feature. Super Stocks and Street Stocks are also on card. The first heat starts at 1:30pm.
