Off-Season Update - Lancaster & Website Info. Well, I must say, the off-season has been quite boring this year. There are not very many rumors going around and the upcoming season isn't looking too hot for Lancaster. First of all, as many of you know, Lake Erie Speedway is running on Saturday nights in 2007. This is just going to be another hit to the Late Model division at LRP. Lake Erie's payout is what draws cars and Lancaster in my opinion can't compete. I don't know what is going to happen with the Late Model class yet, but things don't look good. Holland Speedway is now a SST Racing Series track. I personally don't think this will effect Lancaster's Sportsman class and quite frankly, it better not. The Modified class is weak and the Late Models are also, so the Sportsman is one division that needs to stay strong. There are not many changes happening with the Super Stock's and Street Stock's which is good. The Super's haven't had very good car counts but all the drivers are very competitive and put on a good show every week. The Street Stock's are amazing at Lancaster and with 30-40 cars every week, what more can you ask for? The way I see it, the Late Models look like the odd man out. Everything will be finalized when the 07 schedule comes out, but I have a feeling LM's will not be a full time class at LRP. We have updated our forum in hope that it will get off the ground. Please feel free to express your opinions....
